Mariasela Margarita Alvarez Lebr?n, was born January 31, 1960 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She became the first Dominican woman to win an international beauty title. She was crowned 32nd Miss World 1982, on November 18, at the Royal Albert Hall, London. She became one of the most popular figures in her native country, due to her long career on TV, which included a successful eight-year run with her award-winning show Esta Noche Mariasela.
